WordCamp Israel 2007 Unofficial English Schedule
The aptly-named Jacob Share has done all us English Speaking Israeli WordPress users a big service by posting the Israel WordCamp schedule in English on his JobMob blog. (Hat tip to Hanan Cohen’s RSS feed page, English Language Israeli Bloggers. Hanan will also be participating in the event.)
I’ve got mixed feelings about this event at the moment. At the beginning I was very excited about it, but now it looks more and more that the focus of the event will be Blogging as a Business Tool and less about personal publishing and even less about blogging on the WordPress.com multi-user platform.
If anyone else attending would like to see more of the above approaches, perhaps a message to the WordCamp Israel organizers would be in order.

Hi Jennifer – there will only be one panel on blogging for business. The rest will be on using WordPress to create an internet presence and blog. But you are right – there will be little mention of wordpress.com, probably because it doesn’t have a Hebrew admin. There is an Israeli MU that runs like WordPress.com, but I don’t think there will be much mention of that either.
The main topics will be related to installing WordPress, using themes, plugins, blogging strategies, etc.
Anyways, I hope we’ll see you there. Remember – this is the first WordCamp in Israel, so it’s kind of a learning experience for the organizers. Once we see what people liked or didn’t like at this year’s event, we will be able to fine tune it for next year.
And you can’t beat the price
Thanks for stopping by Miriam. In fact, there are quite a number of us Israelis, both English speakers and Hebrew speakers, using the WP.com MU platform. It would be fantastic if there was a separate session for WP.com users parallel to the session on installation and customization for the stand-alone version of WP.
Regardless, looking forward to meeting you and everyone else on the 25th.
Thanks for mentioning JobMob, Jennifer. I’m glad you find the translation useful. I’m trying to keep it updated as much as possible.
Thank *you* Jacob! I’m glad to see that the topics now also touch on blogging as a personal publishing platform. I was a bit worried. See you on the 25th.
I’m looking forward to the event and eventually converting my blog over to wordpress. In the meantime, I’ve been working on a wordpress blog for ziva which is doing my head in. Vertical and horizontal spaces on images are not working!!!!
@harry, have you tried the forum at wordpress.org? Otherwise, you could write Liron.
Turns out it was my browser on the mac. The spacing is actually working. However, I’m still doing my head in trying to figure out how to link the header links to “pages.” Very frustrating!

Feel free to email me and I’ll try to help if I can.
Good idea!
