Work with me, people! Not for nothing is Crabby over there on the sidebar.
This month’s PhotoImpact Goody is a SMP set of 6 custom paint brushes. Besides painting with brushes, brushes also make great tools. Included in this download are two POE (Paint On Edges) airbrush shaders to use on your image objects to give them a subtle 3d effect.
You can download the 200804-JenT.zip file from the Box.net Widget in my sidebar. If you are having any trouble or have a question about using this PI Goody, please feel free to use the contact form on my *About page. I’m always happy to help.

If you’d like to create your own custom brushes in PhotoImpact and save them to your EP, I’ve written up a short tutorial. Have fun!
Time to share another PI Goodie, this time a metallic glass preset. This preset was available on my defunct geocities website as three separate presets, but I find this single set much more convenient to use. The inspiration for this preset were both my first visit to Venice in 2001 and Kelly Sweet’s “Whirlpool Slats” tutorial, which is still available on his site “PhotoImpact Zone“.

I’m writing up a tutorial on using the Lights Material tab to enhance this preset, but that won’t be available yet for a while. Life is relentless at the moment. Somehow, though, I did find the time to write up a Snapshot tutorial (my very first!) on Making 3D blocks in PI. The tutorial came about from a discussion on the very new and very (!) active PIRC Forum. MaryLou is tireless and she’s got a good crew with her. Come join the fun.
This month’s PI Goodie is filled with lots of sweetness for your Valentine’s Day cards, gifts or loveletters.
There are three different heart-shaped Path frames and a set of Valentine’s tarts, which were made with the wonderful ACME Heart Maker. You also get the 4 backgrounds you see in the above image as a Painting Fill Gallery. Instructions on how to import and set up the Gallery are included in the download file or you can find it here.
For those of you that missed these the first time around, included in my download are two additional PI Presets. First my Chocolate presets (which, while guaranteed to be calorie free, may suddenly induce craving for the real thing).
Lastly, a Frame & Shadow preset to outline your creations in black lace, or white lace if that’s your style.
The 200802-jent.zip can be downloaded from the Box.net widget in my sidebar.
For the fontaholics among us, the font used this month is Harlow Solid Italic.
